You have two options for individual programming and must differentiate between them:
- You can have known suitable standard software customized within the scope of customizing.
- You are planning to introduce a completely new and individually programmed system.
If suitable standard software is extended according to the specific requirements and needs of the user with program changes, this is usually associated with a high cost and time expenditure and not necessarily meaningful. The combination of new development and standardized industry software must be compatible and work together in a heterogeneous environment, as well as satisfying the manufacturer’s framework conditions, because Microsoft & Co set certain conditions for the application when using the software. Reasons against the implementation in existing software can lie here already. In addition, the configuration is influenced by setting new parameters and selecting new modules. Modifications of ERP software are slightly different. Here, modifications include work on existing systems.
The rebuild of a system also involves a complex process, but the structured and complete rebuild is usually simpler for the developer and less expensive for you as a customer. This is because standard software continues to incur running costs, such as license costs, in addition to programming costs.
In the context of individual programming, individual programming often means: cheaper, more flexible, more sustainable, more individual and faster.
